Special Homes for Special Cats
updated 12th Feb
Most of our cats are Healthly and well. Sometimes, they come in poorly or ill and this means that they need a special home.
Lottie – DOB 2.8.11. Short coated tortie and white. Spayed, chipped and vacc.
LOTTIE HAS SPECIAL NEEDS AND WILL ONLY BE REHOMED TO AN INDOOR HOME, FOR LIFE.
Lottie is the daughter of Lois, and sister of William. She was born with Wobbly Kitten syndrome and this means she cannot go outside at all, for her own safety. She walks with a sway, her head “bobs” and sometimes uses her claws to climb as she cannot leap as well as other cats. She can manage stairs and get on the sofa or bed for a cuddle. Lottie has also been found recently to have cataracts in both eyes, again something she was born with. They lower her ability to focus, but dont stop her playing ! Her eyes and disabilty are stable and she needs no medication or special treatment. Lottie is also small for her age, but dont let these things make you feel sorry for her. She has a very good quality of life, and is a happy little girl who loves a cuddle when in the mood. She loves other cats, can hold her own when William is too boisterous, and is used to dogs. Due to her eyesight she is wary of visitors and so the ideal home for her is either an only cat, with her brother William or another older adult cat for company. She is not suitable for a busy family home.
William – DOB 2.8.11. Short coated black. Castrated, chipped and vacc.
WILLIAM HAS SPECIAL NEEDS AND WILL ONLY BE REHOMED TO AN INDOOR HOME, FOR LIFE
William is the son of Lois and brother of Lottie. Like Lottie, he was born with Wobbly Kitten syndrome. William is only slightly affected and he is essentially like any other young male, a bit of a yob at the moment. He is used to dogs. William is a handsome chap and much bigger than his sister, I suspect he will become a very handsome, big adult. He has a grade 2 heart murmur which has not presented any problems to date, even when he had the snip. William is more outgoing than Lottie with visitors and loves to play with toys and other cats. He must be kept indoors due to his disabilty, but would love another young cat to romp with. He is suitable for a family with older children or an adult only home.
We would consider rehoming Lottie and William seperately to the right homes.

Mog came to us following an RTA in Feb 2011. He was badly concussed and blind for a week after the accident. Luckily his sight returned. Howver, we could not save his back leg and after an attempt to pin it, it was removed.
Mog has now recovered from the amputation and is ready for homing. He is a very affectionate cat, eats dry food and therefore has a tendency to put on weight. He is currently on reduced calorie food to try and remove some of the Kilogram he has put on in the last few months.
Mog is suitable for an indoor home or a home with a secure garden.

Kay and Roxy are two girls now about a year old. They are physically healthy but are very nervous cats and need an understanding owner who has experience of nervous cats at the patience to work with them.

They are very happy in each others company and since they are not at all demanding of their human companions a busy working household would be fine for them. They love each other very much and would need to be rehomed together. They would be more suited to an adult only household or with older children (currently being fostered in a house with 11 and 14 year olds) they need their own space and could easily become stressed by enthusiastic, young children.
